| Concrete is a versatile material that can be customized in its shape, color, and texture to match your home. It is a mixture of sand, gravel and portland cement that can be colored by adding pigments. More or less grinding creates differently textured surfaces, and Inlays such as coins, fossils, metal and glass can add a design element. Concrete is a "forever material" that will last for generations, and is a green choice as it is not destructiely quarried nor shipped across continents like granite. Counters are created off-site and installed in your home after a 3-4 week curing period. Craftwork concrete counters are generally 1 3/4" thick. Sealed concrete resists water and stains and is food safe, and the only maintenance required is a yearly re-application of a beeswax coating. |
